Hilary Flamingo is bored, distracted and miserable in her industrialised job. Her mood is unexpectantly illuminated by the spontaneous arrival of a shining plate of little wriggling cakes that entice her to eat them. Tempted by their storybook promise of happy escapism, Hilary picks up a cake and cheekily takes her first bite. With each different cake, Hilary discovers herself posing effortlessly in extraordinary alternative jobs contained by an escalating series of highly aesthetic and artificial scenarios, through which Hilary enthusiastically embraces a multitude of iconic feminine identities.The whirlwind of visually rich fantasies abruptly concludes as her daily shift ends and Hilary finds herself back to a grey reality, where all the sugary excitement ultimately proves to be highly indigestible…
