Short Films
The year is 1970 and while the outside world is drastically changing, in a Baltimore psychiatric institution a young Greenlandic woman has come forward with allegations of abuse. But not only is she crazy; she's also half Inuit. And nobody believes a crazy Indian. Even when Annes bruises are plainly visible to the entire ward, the nurses look the other way. She did it to herself, they say. But fellow patient Bridgette Leven knows better... 138 Arlington recounts the story of two courageous women who begin as victims and who, through their determination and audacity, become survivors. Dark clouds move quickly over the town. It is peak hour. A child four years old is alone in an apartment. He is playing with his cars, watching TV, drawing with his colored markers, listening to people walking in the staircase outside the apartment, sleeping on the lounge room floor.Many time the child goes to a closed door, opens it carefully and looks in.On the third day the child just sit in a corner. We hear someone open and step into the apartment. It is the janitor and a woman who are looking for the residents of the apartment. Outside in the town we can hear the different sounds of vehicles and traffic lights clicking as if they were a giant town clock.

Jennifer is a very passionate but insignificant amateur filmmaker. After hundreds of rejection letters, she finally succeeded to have her film screened at Better Than Home Movie Film Festival. Both excited and nervous at the same time, she gets herself ready to go to the world premiere. At first, she expects at most 10 people at the audience. However, due to the series of humiliating events on her way to the festival, her expectations decrease even more. At last, right before entering the screening room, she decides that she will only continue to make films if there is at least one person in the audience.

A brother and sister are fighting at a playground. Their mother is talking non-stop on her mobile phone. An old man is lying on a bench. He is woken by the children's screams. A magic red ball comes out of his heart.

Bongfen, a young woman from Cameroon comes to the U.S as a mail order bride to an American man, Sam. The whole relationship which is initially based on deceit slowly gives birth to a true friendship between these two people who, underneath the lies, share one common truth-the quest for happiness. But the question remains: What form should happiness take?
